Realtors! Don’t Forget Your Health.

By: Jerika P –  i-Lead Realty Social Media Manager

Maintaining your health is a priority if you want to be at your best. Here are a few tips on keeping yourself in tip-top shape and ensuring your performance as a real estate agent is up to par.

1. Consume a healthy and balanced diet

Real estate agents often work long hours with little time to rest or pay attention to their diets, but making an effort to incorporate a few minutes for meal breaks can help curb any cravings and replenish lost energy. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. It would help if you drank plenty of fluids, stayed nourished for your fast-paced job, and cut down on unnecessary snacking.

2. Develop a physical activity schedule

It only keeps you satiated but also helps you stay in shape. Finding at least thirty minutes to an hour each day to engage in some form of physical activity can work wonders for your physical and mental health. Whether this means going for a jog in the morning, going to the gym, or taking up an outdoor activity such as biking, being active keeps your body fit. Eventually, this will have a positive effect on your work performance.

3. Take time out to relax and rest

Your responsibilities as a real estate agent can pile up, but you must include some downtime for yourself. This can consist of catching up with friends, reading a book, or simply taking a hot bath—anything that gets the mind off your work and de-stresses you. Whatever the activity, make sure you don’t miss out on your precious me-time to stay energized throughout your working day.

4. Don’t forget quality sleep

It can often feel like there’s never enough time to get good sleep, but proper rest is key to success. Try to aim for seven to nine hours of sleep each night and devote time to de-stressing at the end of the day to encourage a good night’s rest. Regularly getting sufficient sleep leads to better physical performance in the short term and stabilizes mood and memory in the long term.
