Public Schools

Originally established in 1899 and located 21 miles east of Dallas, Forney Independent School District is a progressive district with a proud history of excellence in academics as well as in other areas of student achievement. Forney ISD places great importance on a solid, well-rounded academic curriculum and instructional program for students, based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills curriculum standards approved by the State Board of Education in 1997. The FISD currently has nine elementary campuses, two middle schools, and two high schools.
