When Your House Won’t Sell…

If you are stuck with a house that won’t sell, there are many different options available to you. It may be difficult to move on from the property, but a strategy needs to be developed and implemented in order to turn it into a positive financial outcome. Here are five of the most popular options for getting rid of a property that won’t sell.

1. List at a Discount

In many cases, selling a house at a discounted price will be your best option if the market isn’t showing much interest in the property. Setting the price at a fraction of what a comparable property would cost can increase the chances of a sale, even though you may not get an ideal profit.

2. Offer Owner Financing

Do you know someone who’s interested in buying your property, but can’t get a loan from the bank? You can offer owner financing, providing the buyer with an installment loan. You’ll set the interest rate, loan term, and other details in advance.

3. Offer a Freebie

If you’re open to negotiating a sale, consider giving away some of your personal property in exchange for payment. This may sound counterintuitive, but offering a so-called “sweetener” can help close the deal
