By: Jerika P – i-Lead Realty Social Media Manager

There are various types of reasons why Texans purchase both new and previously owned homes, according to a report from the 2022 Texas Homebuyers and Sellers. 37% want to avoid remodeling or issues with the plumbing or electricity, while 28% enjoy the amenities of new home communities, 25% want to customize the design of their home, 19% like it because it is economical, and both 15% have other motivations in addition to the lack of inventory of previously owned homes.

For previously owned homes, 40% want the overall value, 36% prefer them because they are cheaper, 20% like them for their charm and character, 18% want them because there aren’t enough new homes on the market, and 24% want them for other reasons.

It shows that there are a variety of motivations Texas homebuyers favor these particular residences. Since you’ll be living in a house for the foreseeable future, everything ultimately comes down to your preferences. These percentages are all fairly equal, meaning one reason doesn’t overshadow the rest.
