Put Up a Sign in the Yard

What are the benefits of putting up a ‘for sale’ sign in the yard?

1. Encourages word of mouth

If your neighbors or bypassers notice that you want to sell your property, they may inform their family and friends that there is an available house for sale.

2. For sale signs are eye-catching

People passing through your neighborhood may notice the for sale sign and become interested in viewing your home. It also has all the information they need to schedule a showing and come back.

3. It is easier for potential buyers to find your home

When buyers come to an open house, it is easier for them to see where your house is, especially if the houses are identical in the neighborhood or the GPS takes them to the wrong home.

So, what information should you include on your for sale sign?

1. Name of the brokerage
2. Agent’s name and contact information
3. Office phone number with area code
4. Website URL
5. Company logo
6. Brokerage address

Some real estate agents also put an additional smaller sign at the top or below the main sign for additional information, such as:

1. URS or QR code for viewing a virtual tour
2. Open house schedule
3. The listing price
4. Recent price reductions
5. Neighborhood slogans
6. Buyer benefits (such as home warranty)
7. Co-agent’s name and contact information
8. Features of the home (such as the number of bedrooms or bathrooms)

In the end, there are only benefits to putting up a for sale sign in your yard.
