By: Jerika P –  i-Lead Realty Social Media Manager

Planning to sell your home? Here’s a home decluttering checklist you should know before putting your house on the market.

✅ Tidy the front yard

Since most buyers drive around the neighborhood first before attending open houses, cleaning up the front yard will help them get a favorable opinion of your homes.

✅ Create a Welcoming Entryway

Create an entryway that draws potential buyers by organizing the area, or more accurately, the front yard.

✅ Showcase the Kitchen

The kitchen is one of the most important place for potential buyers so if you have an outdated kitchen, the best thing you could do is declutter the space and tidy up the counters and kitchen cabinets.

✅ Highlight the Living Room

Eliminate extraneous items from your living area, such as magazines, and arrange your books on the shelves. Nothing is as relaxing for everyone as a clean, spacious living room.

✅ Make the Bathrooms Shine

Clean up the counters, and get rid of extra stuff in the shower and the sink. To make it cleaner, you may also replace the bath mats.

✅ Put Away Photos

Remove your images to make the home feel less personal. You might be able to convey to prospective buyers what it’s like to live in the home on their terms.

✅ Clear the Hallways

Clear the halls to give the house a larger feel. Remove any hanging hooks, pictures, or artwork to make the space more aesthetically pleasing.

✅ Organize Storage Rooms

Since prospective buyers may want to check your garage or closets, ensure your storage spaces are spacious and tidy. You don’t a mess to distract the potential buyers from the room in these areas.

✅ Minimize Tabletop Decor

Remove as many unnecessary items from your tabletop as possible, such as candles and photos. Since not everyone shares the same taste, it is preferable to go with a minimal look.

✅ Clean the Laundry Room

The laundry room makes a solid first impression as well. Ensure that the laundry supplies are all neatly arranged.
